I provided some materials to the bee nesting exhibit at the Museum of the Earth in Ithaca, NY. The opened carpenter bee stalk is one I opened and curated–while the stalk is a real former carpenter bee nest built in sotol (Dasylirion wheeleri), the pollen provisions and egg are not real (I sculpted them out of a polymer clay concoction I made). I’m proud to have contributed to this very cool display! Go check out their virtual exhibit: https://www.museumoftheearth.org/bees/nesting
